Following the successful launch and roll-out of Channl last year, PPD LIVE 2018 provided the perfect opportunity to showcase the features of Channl to both current users and those within the promotional products industry who had been intrigued by the capability of the platform from afar – of which there were plenty.
At PPD LIVE 2018, Channl proudly exhibited alongside many of the supply partners who feature their products within the platform, which meant the Channl team were able to showcase all things Channl to visitors at the prestigious Ricoh Arena.
The reaction and reception the Channl team received within just a few hours of the show opening was remarkable. The team were on hand to help sign up interested people for their own Channl websites there and then.
As well as being set up with their own free e-commerce site, each visitor to the Channl stand had the opportunity to win a free pack of branded merchandise for their company worth £500 in a marketing prize draw. The lucky winners of this were Kate Duffield from Pink Lizard Promotions and Jeremy Purdy from Nettl.
One visitor to the Channl stand commented: “I signed up for Channl a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been looking forward to attending PPD LIVE and getting the inside scoop from the Channl team. It’s such an exciting innovation and one I can’t wait to really make the most of.”
Emma Harris, from Spectrum Merchandising, following a full run through of Channl said: “The three hour drive up from Essex to PPD LIVE was worth it just to learn from the team about what Channl can do. We can’t wait to get stuck in back at the office.”
Alongside the hands-on walkthroughs that the team were providing at PPD LIVE were a number of masterclasses on the solution’s basic and finer points. These were delivered by Deborah Wilkinson, general manager of Channl, and Gareth Taylor, head of software.
Topics covered for attendees across both days of the event were How To Sell Online With Channl, Prospecting Made Simple With Channl and an in-depth Channl masterclass overview with accompanying expert hands-on advice.
“It was great to see the interest and reception Channl got across both days of PPD LIVE and the turnout for each of our masterclasses was brilliant,” said Deborah.
“We got a real mix of both early Channl adopters and people whose interest for Channl brought them along to the show. It was great to see distributors receive tips and advice from the Channl team to help them improve their online presence, and additionally the feedback we’ve had from people is really going to help us shape how Channl moves forward in 2018.
“Most notably, what we saw was a real shift in interest and interactivity towards our online tools and marketing material. The conversations that we had at PPD LIVE 2018 were far more advanced than this time last year, demonstrating that the industry as a whole is becoming much more tech savvy, and being online with an engaging way for buyers to order promo is just part of that.
“We’re excited to be part of this journey with distributors and suppliers and we’re looking forward to helping each of our partners and users grow their digital presence in 2018.”
